Virginia State University (VSU), one of the nation’s oldest HBCUs, sought to create a research database that would centralize key findings and honor the legacies of over 100 HBCUs. The goal was to design an accessible platform showcasing current events, research papers, and contributions by HBCU alumni, promoting shared knowledge and academic excellence.
WBD partnered with VSUto develop a custom-built, data-driven research database that serves as a central repository for academic research, historical archives, and key HBCU contributions. The platform was designed from scratch with a focus on scalability, security, and ease of use, enabling it to accommodate the research needs of over 100 HBCUs while organizing data on current events, research publications, and alumni achievements.
